I've got a small deer hide in a 5 gallon bath of alum and salt. Anyone know if I can keep the bath for future use or how many hides you can put in such a bath?

you can keep it in there for a really long time (like a couple years) but you got to make sure to monitor the PH so it stays between a 1.5-2, the rule of thumb is one pound of salt for one gallon of water and one fluid ounce of acid.
