I starting using these last fall and absolutely love them. They are 5"*5" traps, which some people say are to small, but i have no issues with refusals or misses. Since they are small they cost a little less than a 7*7 and can fit more in the truck. I get them from the lure shack.

Good one MT! We had a fairly good sized class but there wasn't a fox in the bunch. ( Well I guess that's not quite true, one of my classmates was Miss Tall America. Who knew? )

Sure is a nice looking trap.I can sure see why he loves them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It would be very easy to make a trap similiar to that with a powered door and wire trigger.I just don,t get enough requests. Could make it single or double doored. Could offer with bait door.

Just have to make a smaller version of my mechanism.

Could even put a one way trigger on a version to allow the trap to be connected to a large bait cage and the first one to leave would fire the trap.

Could make in a guillotine version or a swing down version as is shown.

What kind of demand is there. Would it be that more benificial to be able to set the trap vertical.

What does that trap sell for.

Maybe for the price that trap is the best way to go in a lot of instances.

Smallcreek, They are still around but very hard to find on the web so i know where you're coming from. I first found them a few years ago at a animal swap meet here in Ohio and it took me 6 months to locate the guy again. Ended up having to call the director of the swap meet and beg to find out who was operating that booth who carried these nice traps. The lure shack is located near Millersburg, OH, Mark Mast can be reached by telephone (330) 390-0162 . Since finding them, i have ordered dozens of these squirrel traps and love them. I am trying to convince them to make this same design in a scaled up coon trap. They currently sale the 12*12*36 with a gravity door, but I prefer spring loaded for my roof work. The trap i pictured here runs around $22 with galvanized wire and a buck more for GAW wire. I just talked to Mark last week and they are planning on having a booth at the NTA convention this year in Lima, OH. Hope this helps.

Small Creek looks like a well made trap as well . That would be a good one for baited sets or inside the home round up . Aes I use mostly but never with bait . I hardly use bait for squirrel . With the reversed door you just butt them up to the hole and they clean out the squirrels because they multiy catch . Drop the back door and they double as a oneway door if I'm able to just oneway and feel there's no way the squirrel can chew back in I would rath do that
