I have some extra Hen of The Woods mushrooms and took them to a local Chinese Restaraunt that buys them for $5.00 a pound. Is this a good price? I sold 20 lbs this evening. What do you guys think?

Thanks guys. I found a few more and sold some more to them. I found out they are buyig from several other guys and are drying them and shipping them somewhere else. lots of hen of the Woods still coming up in central Illinois. With all this rain they are getting pretty big. I noticed earlier when it was dry they did not have worms in them but now if they set too long they do. Do most of you do this or do you sell to the general public through word of mouth?

i dont mean to beak away from the main thread but is there any look a likes of these mushrooms? i call it chicken of the woods but im sure its the same thing, an orange bracket like fungus that grows at the base of oak trees. ive found it before but was always nervous about harvesting it and eating it just of the thought of misidentifying it.

those are a form of chickens,,,,,,,,,,and yes,,,,they are edible.........i harvested approx 40-45 lbs worth from under 1 tree back in october..........i gave away about 1/2 to family because i'm already full up on other types of mushrooms that have been canned.
