Don Wolfe answered my request as follows, this was in reference to my area but I am sure your area is covered in a different edition.

"I would reccomend 2 books and the first one will be the best. Eastern/central medicinal plants by steven foster and james a duke. The books are the peterson field guides
The second one is also a peterson field guide.
It is called wildflowers by roger troy peterson and margaret mckenny."
