I have never forgotten. Never Will.

I should call my uncle today I know he's going to have a rough time today . He's a retired fire cheff . He just sat out in the woods for days crying his eyes out when this happened .this day is hard on all fire fighters I'm sure . People don't understand what it's like being a fire fighter . Pulling little burned up kids out of rumble would wear heavy on any man . you expect the risk you might take but the sites you see is hard to live with at times . My uncle never has talked about the things he seen but we all know it wears hard on him at times . He started out pitching for the Detroit tigers but after get shot threw his right shoulder out hunting deer back in the 50s he could still pitch and still can but it just hurts to bad . He still holds all the records in is old high school .After that he joined the air force as a fire fighter and learned the trade there . After he return home and got a job in Detroit as a fire fighter and worked his way to the top . Never making much money as even the cheff it was only 50,000 ayear . When you seen detriot on fire on the news he was on the front lines doing battle . Fire fighters are kinda like the coast guard people like cops or navy might poke fun at these guys but the truth is they see much more action on a daily then the guys poking fun . If you have ever been saved be a fire fighter or the coast guard you would know what im saying .Being a fire fighter is mostly low pay but high risk job that only afew are cut out for . Them 600 fire fighters had to of known that them buildings where about to come down but gave there lives without a thought off it to save as many as they could . Ya I should call my uncle today and shoot the breeze .

I remember it like yesterday. I was laying on the floor in my apartment with a shattered knee watching TV. I thought it was a movie, no way this was real.
