For the guys that deal with woodpeckers:
Current client wants to know if there is a chemical that
can be added to paint that would take care of any insects
that are on his house.
The intent is to remove the offending woodpeckers, patch the holes
and than the whole house is to be painted. He (the client) would
like to keep any future birds from coming back due to any insects
on the house. I have seen carpenter bees and a black ant on the
face of the house. The house is cedar clapboard sided with a dark
brown stain.

Thanks for any help.

We mix in about a cup of Sevin dust per gallon of paint

Annual treatment for carpenter bees for your client is the best and only real answer to this problem. I have been doing woodpecker work and pest control treatments for carpenter bees a long time. Paint will discourage some bees for a while on a normal home. However stain on wood will work for a short period of time but the bees will return in short order. You will learn this in time also as there are no one time fixes on wood sided and log style homes.Once conditioned to the bee occupation and larve presence woodpeckers will continue to probe the wood for the chubby rewards.
