November 25, 2012:

Went out today and did a check on a trapline I will be setting early September.
Now that I have ice enough to cross small sloughs with the snow machine I was able to get further then I was able to in Summer.

Cut numerous wolf tracks. As well as a few sets of Wolverine prints. Lots of Fisher/Marten and weasel sign. And am pleased to report I did not come across one beaver colony.

Upon nearing the end of the trail, I came upon a hunting cabin in the bush.

Did a quick trap check on the way back, had a weasel (#9).

And as I mentioned before, there was no ice I couldn't drive on today. Still will check certain places before driving though.

Yes, the bikes at work have mudlites, bear claws and Swamplites I believe.
They go through mud well. But of course there is very little that will go through Loon*hit, once you start going down in that stuff you might as well quit while your ahead.

Shocking isn't it!
Through 8 1/2 miles of ridges and swamps there was not one beaver colony.

Can you trap wolverine in your area? There can't be too many around.

Looks like human tracks to me.

Scootermac - saw the first sign last season. Not alot of em around, and no season on them here.

Alaskaviking - I would agree but the track in the hard pack snow on the trail said differently. Possibly more then one wolf?

Yes a Belisle 120 with a pan made up of corrugated plastic.
All of my marten traps will now have pans.
