I vaguely remember someone posting that there was someone around who claimed they could catch adult coyotes regulary in cage traps......ring a bell?

I have never claimed that I could catch adult coyotes regularly in cage traps. You must be referring to Dan Gates. Even Dan hasn,t made that claim. I do have, however, a customer that says he catches many in cage traps and he was the first to catch one in mine over a year and a half ago. He must not want his name mentioned or he would have given me permission a year ago.
Had a customer buy one of my double doored coyote-dog traps about two weeks ago cause he said he had caught 4 coyotes in cage traps after his chickens and had one that was regularly stealing the bait and beating the door( getting out before the door came down). He said he had video and was going to set a camera on my trap to get video of my trap. He wanted a trap with bait options and a fast door that was more open.I have not heard from him.
I get very little feedback from the customers, except that we get a lot of re-orders from customers for the same trap or a new model they want to try.
Maybe you could post a picture of a more open trap that is big enough for coyotes and dogs, than the one I sell. Maybe one with faster doors? Surely there is another, or maybe they are like myself and have other proto-types to be tested, by experienced coyote trappers before they are offered for sale.
Most of the inquiry is for a trap to catch them in residential areas where they are not afraid of humans. Many have had the same worry with the coyote beating the door. That is why the double - door trap I sell is designed and has the animal approach the way it does.
You can have the best trap in the world, but without the right bait-lure, area trapped, weather, and experience, your trap may stay empty.
