crobarr- water sets for beaver are simpler than hanging a snare for a coyote? yes. a beaver snare doesn't have to be set as exactingly as a yote snare. heck, i bet it takes me a good 10-15 seconds longer to set a yote snare. LOL!!!

Aint nuthin harder to catch than a peg leg beaver LMAO, I can see ol' captain peg leg bucktooth slippin out your foothold every time, nothin to hold onto. too hard to answer, for me beaver around here because there are not that many and the areas they are in are very hard to trap due to water levels flucuating overnight sometimes 15 feet.

We had a beaver pond on our land for 20 yrs and they just kept expanding til we couldn't even bush hog our meadow and they flood a hardwood bottom killing some of the trees.
My dad declared war on them. He had never set a trap in his life and he cleaned EVERYONE of them out, All in 330s! He caught around 15.
We have had two come up the creek trying to retake the pond and he caught those two also. We are now beaver free for the first time in over 20yrs
Going by this experience I would say coyotes are harder.
