Hey Paul, that unleaded pellet tip is a good one. Especially, since to a lot of these guys, the target and the food item are one in the same!

I had a job in Naples for Muscovy ducks and I had a Gamo Big Cat. I fired that thing off and the noise echoed so loud that the neighbors across the river all came out. Returned it and bought the Gamo Silent Stalker Whisper .177. It's very quiet. Nothing more fun than a PR nightmare after shooting the ducks that the neighbors have been feeding.

Ive got a Haley 58 big bore air gun that will drop a buffalo. Does nice work inside of 100 yards on anything. Has an 820 grain hollow point that can scream at 900 fps.

Those things are like $1,200! I can't justify that since mine mainly collects dust.

I'm going to get a Benjamin Marauder in .25 caliber just as soon as my wife's back is turned. ( Has to do with the dust collecting thing )

Don't underestimate the air rifle

http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org

is a great airgun site.

I would choose a PCP. Either .22 or .25

Find a pellet it likes. Make sure it is a very accurate pellet.

If using for ADC at close range hollowpoints are a good idea. along with headshots.

www.pyramidair.com
has a deal where you buy 3 tins of pellets and get the 4th (cheapest) tin free.

Makes it easier to order alot of pellets and find the one you like.

I've seen this posted before ... "Thank's Rick"

I love my Benjamin .22. I haven't used it for work yet. I figured it would kill a coyote but I haven't tried it yet. I have an 80 yard target setup. I have a wood pallet by my target. I can put a hole thru 1/2 pine board at 80 yards!

One thing to keep in mind if your planning on pursuing bird jobs at big box stores is the rules some of them have. For example Wal Mart requires no larger caliber than .177 and flat lead pellets. This is because they don't want holes in the ceiling.
