I'm sure glad I don't have any skunks here, or they'd be trying to get into my shed also. We more than make up for it in possums though.

Do you have any idea how many lures have come and gone when the maker passed away? Taking time to learn something is never a waste of time. The idea that one man is somehow superior to another, or posseses some sort of magic that only allows him to create a good attractant is silly. There are two kinds of folks making good lures. Those who were taught and those who failed alot learning from mistakes. Usually a combination of both.

excellent post , IMO \:\)

Now the trail cam thingy adds a whole new wrinkle to the game. That would be a good tool for testing a bait or lure for anyone who is so inclined. I think those are cool and any lure maker, beginner on up could get a lot of use out of one.

I still feel it would be very confusing for a beginning coyote trapper, who is also a beginner lure maker, to mix the two learning curves. You wuold just have no way of knowing if it was your methods, or your lures, that were the problem.

Nice pics. I might just get me one of those trail cams. They are kewl!

Great pictures!! But could you please resize then to 640 X 480?? I hate having to scroll halfway across the county to see them.

It's an old road and we couldn't make much of a hole so we set a small rock on the edge of the hole lure in hole and side of rock. In the 1st set of pictures you can see the rock standing on end.

No, this is how I wanted them to come

but the roadbed was so hard we couldn't make a good hole, more of an indent and the lure wasn't contained in a small spot. If we used a larger backing it would have worked better.
In this picture the young gray already had everything pawed up and I think it urinated

Checked the trailcam last evening and the stupid thing is dead. So much for the $50.00 cheapy at Wal-Mart, but I hate to hang alot of money on a tree. I guess I'll take it back and try another one before asking for my money back.

You will find that these units use alot of battery power to operate. You must be careful on the settings you select also to help conserve your battery power.

Prevailing winds are always an important factor in positioning sets, especially if one wants to correctly anticipate the animal's approach a big percentage of the time. Ace

Yea I knew they were running that old road and felt I could get their attention coming or going but without a bigger backing I couldn't get them to look at the camera. If we get the trailcam working I'll fine toon the approach a little so they face the camera.
