When i was a kid everybody picked and sold it,does anyone still buy it? I am not even sure if it grows out of this state and never heard it called anything else.Never knew what they used it for.

Low growing plant,it has a very distinct mellow aroma.Back when I was a kid it was very popular as lots of locals picked and sold it,for what purpose it was used I do not know

It appears that it was a tobacco additive not used anymore due to being replaced by artificial flavoring
