no the castor isn't pressurized... but be careful when removing the oil sacks because if u cut them, they leak all your oil out.

Hang the castor from a bucket rim or a wire to let it dry.. turning it once in a while.. depending on how you want to use it and your weather would determine how to fix your bait..


I freeze some every year...in the off season, I taint it for a day or two, add salt to preserve it (some don't like salt), then depending on what I'm using it for.. I might take a little squirt of sack oil and some of the castor ground up and add this to the bait... This gets better with age...

If I make bait during season, I just chunk it up and put it in a quart jar.. It rides in the back of the truck until it is used up or gets pretty stinky.. if it's getting pretty stinky, I'll add salt to preserve it.. If it taints too much, they will roll on your sets.

Ok. So, just a straight actual castor opened/cut at site might work?

Yes, it will work, but it will go 10X further if you mix it with glycerin. It will also stick to a stick better if it is mixed with a liquid. Water is not a good option for mixing because it will freeze. Get some glycerin, at least, to mix it with. You can use a razor blade to "grind" the castors if you don't want to mess up momma's food processor...
