Wish i could use 220s and buckets but their are too many hunting dogs here!

The boxes look to be more effective and I will be trying a dozen or two next year, late-season inside barns. I still won't bother setting them until the creeks ice over.

I am not a great coon trapper this is only my third year of trapping but i have learned alot... What do you guys do with the meat.. i create a big pile out in my woods and catch some coyotes on trails to it, but is there people who buy the meat? if so where? I have heard about selling skulls of coons and an old friend should me how to get a coon head into a white coon skull in a matter of days. so im going to try that... I just dont have alot of money and any thing i can use to get some extra cash while im having fun walking through the woods trapping i would be willing to try....

For those of you who are talking about dog proofing. I use vertical wooden boxes between 24"-30" long. I use 220 for coon and I recess the trap back 7"-8" and I set the trap off the ground 6"-8" therefore dogs can't arch themselves into the box but coon and fisher can. Works great but make sure you secure your trap into the box. I have never had a problem. I hope this helps you guys who have dogs around. Try this with your dog without the trap obviously and you will see it works great.
