Using it would be the other half.... \:\) Knowledge is indeed power...but you have to apply that knowledge. Professional trapping IS a lot of hard work, as anyone who does it will tell you.

I take the anal glands from canine's (keeping fox & coyote seperate) and cut off their foot pads. I fill up a jar with them and top off with fox urine. I set these in the window of my trapping shed and let them rot down for a year. I then run through a blender and add a touch of beaver castor and a touch of skunk. This is my lure.

I take marten, fisher, mink, weasle & skunk glands and place in the same jar and top off with mink urine. After it rots down a year and gets run through a blender, I add honey, beaver castor (heavy on it) and load it up with some more skunk - this is my marten & fisher scent.

Why the foot pads? (Yes, I know they have a scent to them too). But haven't heard anyone say why they thought foot pads belong in gland lure...although I hear some do put them in. Aren't Marten glands inside if them along the belly?
