we have to go over to the kusandswim for bou now a days and can only shoot two I think..not like 5 a day over here smile
these are much smaller though, but taste real good..you can crack the leg bones like crab legs with the back of your table knife mmm mmmm goood.

Nice moose Jeff! When are you going to start your boat rental biz so we can get some of that two moose action!

I think you will like the 40. I've been running both the 2 and 4 stroke versions of that in a jet for 25 years and the only thing I've had to replace is the lower unit bearing. 5K for a new 4 stroke is a good price.

I like it so far...way less gas than my old 2 stroke Johnson..I would say less than half fuel consumption than what I was used to...unfortunatly gas is $7.05 a gl not countung tax!

I've been happy with mine. I used to run Honda 30 hp, and still have a couple of them, but my 40 Yamaha is about right for power, and I like added things like the air assist tilt. I paid more than that for mine in pull start, no electric start, several years ago. No problems with mine, and I average almost 1,000 hrs per year on mine.

Yep YJ, I bought the last rope start 40 in stock, and they aren't currently being made. Only electric start. Heavier, and need a battery to haul along, no thanks. Keep it simple as possible is my rule of thumb.

as long as you have enough juice to run the fuel pump its electric..so need a battery.

hopfully I can keep the starter in good repair and a good battery..no worse than a truck.

At what point does a 4 stroke get too big to pull start? My understanding is the reason the they don't have them on 4 stroke snow machines is that you can't get it turned over to start unless you had a kick start.

Probably depends on the number of cylinders and the compression ratio. I would think, and could easily be wrong, that more cyls make it easier to start.

Extraction of the last of my seasonal neighbors yesterday. Always food for thought to see the last scheduled plane of the year depart.

Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.
