Yes. I've talked to them a couple times about it when I saw a collared wolf behind the house. Told me they tracked one collar right to a guys house up North. I've watched them fly some very precise search grids. Hope they have had better luck seeing wolves than I have this winter. Wish some of that effort went into bear counting.
Couple days of nice weather here. We may even get a spring this year.

Thanks Bob. I've only seen the hand held antenae but they looked like that also. Followed a biologist around Homer one time looking for a radio collared moose that needed it's back feet trimmed. He knocked it down with a dart and I trimmed her hooves with a pair of hoof nippers and
a farriers rasp. Her feet were a mess, grown out like sheep horn's.

Apparently, according to the Newsminer, they were here last week or the week before, but I didn't see any until the day before yesterday.

On a different note, while standing knee deep in freezing water on top of ice looking for muskrats yesterday, it occured to me that I have walked through thicker brush, driven through deeper snow, and stood on more questionable ice now that I'm an aspiring trapper than I would have even thought about when I was just an aspiring hunter. And I'm gonna go do it again today after my coffee does it's job!

Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.

Birds will be showing up here anyday now, and we have enough snow to get out a ways from town, so hunting them is going to be fun for a while.

Surprising how punctual they are. It's almost always the 19th here.

We had lots right in front of the house but as other water starts to open up they spread out. This year for the first time I see pairs of swans on the small frozen ponds as they usually don't do that till the ponds open up. Think the swans aren't bothered by foxes but have seen wolves do the deed on them. Speaking of doing the deed can you believe those Goldeneyes doing that in our drinking water?
