How many will hold a big ol' Iowa boar coon in place until I get there to check? Will 2 of them wired/cabled together be enough?

In my 55 years of using them - one is enough if anchored in mud or sand on the creek/stream bottom. Know nothing about applications in substrates with gravel or stone in the creek bed.

Trial and error will spell what works for you.

I'm w/ TexA.

I've had beaver, and especially otter, drag RR plates a long way. I've wasted a lot of time searching for animals.

I gave up on them as well...unless there's absolutely no chance at staking solidly

Nick, if you want them I got a pile of 20 or so. Stop by and get them. I only use a couple a year for mink in cement culverts.

I can't use them BWT, they're what I put in my wheel barrow all summer, that I haul around and use for training for all the trapping gear I push around in it during season.

i love usin em on the smaller streams on my mink and coon traps .... the areas i trap one large plate is heavy enuff to get the coons away from the sets and still tangle in a short distance .... at the end of the season (or when i pull that particular stretch of line) i will stash them at locations so they can be re-used the following season
