Just got a pint of white musk on a trade and dont know what to use it for ,any recipes,or good ideas appreciated!

What does it smell like? Do you know the "origin" of the musk?

its actualy very moderate smelling , dont know the origin!

i seem to recall that white musk is a synthetic.

So this stuff must be incredible,because nobody knows how to use it , or what to use it for!
i dont feel so bad now! LOL!

white musk aka Xylol musk is used in lure formulations for canines and predators from what i can gather but thats about it. mtp sells it, found it in their catalog i just havent seen any lure formulas with any measurements to go by.

nick wyshinski has a formula for a bait that he included white musk as one of two or 3 things one could add to it after tainting and preserving, he gave no amounts just said to mix the musk into the bait until desired odor was reached, on this bait he was listing only single ingredients that could be added to the finished product, not several, just one, another he listed was mollasses of mollassess fortifier.

White musk is a first class bobcat calling ingredient in bobcat lure formulation. Ace

And wouldnt ya know , bobcats are protected in Ohio!

LOL, you'll get them in your coyote traps over that way for sure. I believe I saw something about adding white musk to horse hoof "frog" in the archives. You got horses? Next time you trim their hooves, save all that stuff and bottle it up and read the archives on hourse "frog"... That is the only place I have seen white musk discussed on here. I am sure it is used in qhite a few lures but we are just not aware...
