Here is a easy way to remove or install jaws from traps.

First remove the pan, springs and spring pin.

Then all you will need is a pair of vise grips like this ...

Place the vise grips around the jaws like in the picture.

Adjust them so that when pinched closed they will squeeze the jaw together, allowing for removal.

For jaw installation place jaw into vice grips. Squeezing the jaw to allow for installing. Place one jaw tip into trap frame, line up the other jaw tip and release pressure from the vise grips. Jaw installed.

Repeat the process for each jaw.

Really couldn't be any easier!

Hope you find this helpful.

Put the trap upside down and crossways in a big vise. Works effortlessly.

I like it.

Now do a double long spring, and make it easy. \:\)

ADC - for a double long spring compress one spring and secure with a U-Grip or small C clamp. Do the same with the other spring. Then replace jaws as shown above or with the bar clamp that I mentioned. Release spings and you are done. I just did a couple last week - a couple minutes per trap.

The U-Grip that I have came with a SC trap setter that I won. I notice that Sterling Fur sells them.

On the dbl,s just compress the springs and tie with light tie wire . one strand of 16 guage annealed wireand a couple twist will hold any longspring.

I use two Quick Grip clamps for double longsprings. Just clamp the trap to the benchtop. The rubber clamp pads keep them from slipping.
