I used logwood dye. Only trapped one season so far with my DP's, but they seem to have held up pretty good -- no rust, binding, etc.

I been painting mine with brown rustoleum but like you said they get polished pretty easily. I have to repaint them each season which takes money and time. Kind of a no win battle. Good question.

I wax all of mine, never had a problem,cept where they shine them up on the outside....B.... No prob with pull-outs? I've been hesitant to try wax, but then when you think about it, a waxed leghold doesn't cause pull-out problems, so why should a waxed DP?

I never have had a problem with Pullouts, I even wax my Yancys traps and than burn the wax of the trigger with a little propane torch....B....

when the gasoline evaporates there's too much dip left.
Telling on yourself now, like i said IF you ever learn how to properly dip traps it won't gum up on ya. But after reading about bobcats in the top of tree's I doubt there's any hope of you ever figuring much of anything out when it comes to trapping!
Good thing all the animals in arkinsaw are dumb, lol.
