These protesters are about as innocent as the snake filled with the round shapes of "fog horn Leghorn's," offspring, outlining her snake-like belly while saying it wasn't me what swallowed the youngsters. All one needs to do is read the web sites and the bragging these protestors make about how they continuously attack Edythe's home and vandalize it to know they are lying through their teeth in this Blog below.

Twelve peaceful animal rights activists were illegally arrested
Saturday near the home of Edythe London, notorious UCLA employee known
for addicting non-human primates to methamphetamines and nicotine.
While acting completely within the law, activists were summarily
rounded up and arrested by rogue UCLA police intent on stopping a
constitutionally-protected picket. Identical demonstrations have
occurred in the area for several years without arrests.

Edythe London is a long time primate "vivisector" (vivisection is the
act of performing torturous and mutilating experiments on animals).
London injects and addicts monkeys to methamphetamines (turning them
into tweakers, so to speak), before strapping them into leather
restraints, doing "PET scans" on them and then killing them. She also
addicts primates to nicotine, using money provided by a grant from the
Phillip Morris Company, as well as having used underage teens for the
study as well.

For the past two years, UCLA police and the LAPD have watched and
filmed activists marching past and around Edythe London's 'toney'
neighborhood in Westwood, California and never cited or arrested any
activist under the municipal code cited on Saturday for the arrests.
After imprisonment for several hours, all the activists were released
without bail. A hearing has been set for June 15 the Airport Municipal
Court in Los Angeles.

A 'Legal Observer' with formal training from the National Lawyers
Guild was at the scene of the arrests videotaping UCLA police
harassment and states "UCLA police made the arrests while activists
were marching on the sidewalk by another home two doors from
London's." Police then proceeded to CONFISCATE the legal observer's
video tape of the entire day's legal picketing, as well as hundreds of
dollars worth of posters, a banner depicting horrible images of
primates in the laboratory's of UCLA and other laboratories and a five
foot "stuffed animal" created to look like a monkey being experimented
on hanging from a cross.

The legal observer is certain UCLA police will alter or erase her
videotape: "This has happened before with videotapes confiscated by
police showing official misconduct and/or proving activists were
within the law."

A motion is being filed today by the defendants counsel, attorneys
John J. Uribe and David Tannenbaum, to preserve ALL the evidence
confiscated at the scene; they are asking a court to have the
videotape or a copy released back to the legal observer immediately
before UCLA has the chance to alter the tape.

During the arrests, a sympathetic neighbor came over to the legal
observer and stated "UCLA has millions of dollars and try to push
their weight around whenever and wherever they want to."

After being release from jail, the nine adults and the three minors
vowed to continue doing legal pickets with renewed determination. One
of the arrestees stated, "We were singing in jail songs like 'We Shall
Overcome' and others and were completely united in our US
Constitutional and California Constitutional rights to be able to
legally picket on side walks that we pay taxes for. The three minors
parents who had to come to the jail to pick them up, are very proud of
the teenagers for spending a Saturday afternoon exercising their
freedom of assembly and speech for a noble cause instead of doing what
most teens their age are doing, either getting high on drugs, alcohol
or having sex with other teenagers. The parents have pride that their
teenagers are socially aware and are using what our founding fathers
put into the Constitution in order to allow the public to make changes
when innocent beings are being oppressed, tortured, mutilated and
killed because they don't have a voice

ALF suspected in CA researcher vehicle sabotage (ABC News)‏

Sent: June 2, 2010 2:25:13 PM

ABC News
Cops Eye Animal Rights Extremists in Attack on Marine Biologist
Cut Brake Lines Discovered by Marine Biologist's Wife Before She Drove Car
BY EAMON McNIFF
May 26, 2010
http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/police-suspect-animal-rights-group-cut-brake-lines/story?id=10740962

Police suspect a radical animal rights group in the sabotaging of
brakes on the car of a marine biologist researcher in Santa Cruz,
Calif., and a spokesman for one militant group did not rule it out.

The vehicle was parked on a steep hill and police said the brake lines
and the cable for the emergency brake had been cut, Santa Cruz Deputy
Police Chief Rick Martinez told ABCNews.com.

The researcher's wife discovered the damage to the car on Sunday when
she spotted a pool of brake fluid beneath the vehicle when she about
to drive it.

"Luckily the spouse spotted the damage and didn't operate the
vehicle," Martinez said.

"Upon full inspection we discovered the entire brake system had been
disabled," said Martinez. He said the Santa Cruz police have brought
in the FBI.

"We're bringing in as many resources as we can and we're not missing a
single shred of evidence," Martinez said.

The officer said animal rights groups have been involved in other
attacks on researchers in the Santa Cruz area in recent years.
Martinez said that police believe that one of those organization may
be involved in cutting the researcher's brakes due to his work in the
biology field.

Dr. Jerry Vlasak is the press officer for the North American Animal
Liberation Front and said he didn't know whether the group was
involved in the incident, but didn't rule it out.

"We haven't received any sort of communiqué. We may receive it later.
Sometimes it appears a week or two, a month or two later," Vlasak told
ABC News.

Vlasak said he is not involved in the activities of the underground
members of ALF, but simply a spokesperson to communicate their
activities.

"If this guy had done animal research, I would say this was a
justified action," Vlasak said. Martinez said the researcher whose car
was sabotaged did not use animals in his work, but Vlasak was not
convinced.

"The fact they said he's not doing animal research doesn't hold a lot
of water with me. These guys are notorious for spinning it how they
want to spin it," Vlasak said about the authorities.

History of Attacks By Animal Rights Groups

According to Martinez the researcher and his family are recovering
from their ordeal.

"They're obviously shaken, nobody expects to be targeted simply
because of your employment," Martinez said.

"The researcher is fairly known for positive work in environmental
conservation, so I don't really understand why... A lot of people know
who he is and they are now angry because they know the legitimate work
the researcher does to help environment," he said.

Martinez pointed to several past incidents involving involving college
researchers and animal rights groups as to why authorities believe
that may be the case once again.

In 2009 four animal rights activists were arrested for a series of
incidents involving UC Santa Cruz and Berkeley researchers, including
entering the home of a UC Santa Cruz researcher in February 2008 and
attacking her husband, according to court documents.

The arrests were made by the joint terrorism task force and the four
were charged with using force, violence, or threats to interfere with
the operation of the University of California in violation of the
Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. Those four have all pled not guilty
and the trial is ongoing. Also in 2008 people who police say have ties
to animal rights extremist groups allegedly firebombed the home of one
UC Santa Cruz researcher, as well as the car of another. No arrests
have been made in those two incidents and although police have said
they suspect members of an animal rights extremist group.

Vlasak said in those two incidents nobody has come forward claiming
responsibility, but he suspects if those targeted did in fact conduct
research and testing on animals as reported it was most likely people
involved with the Animal Liberation Front.

"Seems to me they were affiliated with Animal Liberation Front," Vlasak said.

On the North American Animal Liberation Front's Website, the group
takes responsibility for recently burning down a sheepskin factory in
Denver, Colo., as well as placing an "incendiary device" in the
exhaust pipe of a car belonging to a primate researcher in La Jolla,
Calif.

Vlasak said the fight for animal liberation is comparable to any past
liberation attempts by humans and the violence seen at times is a
moral and neccesarry step to get results.

"It just happens to be a different species this time rather than a
different race or people," Vlasak said.

Calls to the University of Santa Cruz were not immediately returned.

It seems to me that Jerry Vlasik is walking a fine line. One would think a pretty good case could be made for material support for terrorists by him running their web-site and being their spokesperson.

Don't let your feelings on some political issue alter your support for our most fundamental rights under the Constitution. Next time you might be the one protesting something and might get locked up by the police.
I might totally disagree with what somebody says, but I'll defend their right to say it.

When the mantra reads like this in advocating the type of hate mongering that Vlasak spews they have crossed the line.Hate mongers such as he do not have the right to call for the murder of other folks. Meanwhile those same vivisectors are on the right track to getting a vaccine to prevent breast cancer according to yesterdays news.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4-PU5EGp9A

This is not some tepid type of speech but a call to murder folks and that action is being taken by the folks who agree with Vlasak. Free speech is one thing but hate mongering folks in their own home yard or at their place of business while calling upon others to kill the victim is a damgerous precedent which the animal rights & earth liberation morons are abusing.

Using Vlasak's own circular logic where he declares it to be moral to pre emptively take the life of a person in defense of animals then can we not pre emptively take his life in defense of the researchers?

Unlike the fool anti this is not a call to do harm but merely a rhetorical question.

He doesn't have the logical ability to see that position although you see that point clearly ,warrior. It is also quite significant that researchers are in the process of saving even more lives ,both human & other species through the research fields. The drugs & medical procedures used in human hospitals are also used in vet clinics.

This disease has touched every household in North America & Vlasak types hate the fact that a vaccine developed to prevent it could have caused researched animal deaths. Knowing children & parents that have lost one of the most important members of their family to breast cancer I am in awe of the callous behavior Vlasak & his ilk have towards those lost to breast cancer and the stress the survivors and their families are under. Vlasak is not so much pro animal rights as he is blind to the tragedy of loosing a member of the human family to a disease that destroys family ties. Unfortunately he has attracted other folks to his beliefs that are just as malicious against these researchers as he is. Those researchers provide hope for a cure first and eventual cures for diseases that destroy the flowers of humanity, our Women folk.

Why yet another cancer 'miracle' really is a cause for hope this
time
While modern medicine may not be able to wipe
out this disease forever, the latest breakthrough has the potential to
greatly extend patients' lives

Picture posed

Saturday June 05 2010

As the lifespan of laboratory mice goes, Dr Vincent
Tuohy's have won the lottery. But only those who were injected with
his groundbreaking breast cancer vaccine. None of these tiny research
creatures, bred to make them prone to the disease, went on to develop
it. All of the others did.For almost a decade, the Irish
immunologist has been convinced that the secret to ridding the human
body of its most insidious killer lies not in treating tumours but
preventing them from ever taking hold in the first place. In the
way that childhood vaccination programmes have proven to be the most
successful intervention in medical history, wiping out diseases like
polio, mumps and measles, he became certain that deadly tumours could be
eliminated in the same way.By focusing on the proteins that
trigger the most dangerous forms of malignancy, a single shot for
prostate cancer, lung cancer and bowel cancer could be developed and
universally distributed to the population, thwarting wayward cells in
their tracks, and saving healthcare systems billions in expensive
chemotherapy treatments with a dubious success rate.Cancer is an
overgrowth of the body's own cells, so creating a vaccination that would
tell the body to stop this process is exceptionally complex because it
can result in the destruction of healthy tissue and cause more harm than
good.A further complication with breast cancer is that tumour
cells are strikingly similar to benign ones and it can be hard to
distinguish between them. But from his lab at the Cleveland
Clinic, Ohio,
Dr Tuohy laid the scientific groundwork for this first-of-its-kind
vaccine by targeting a protein called alpha-lactalbumin, which is found
in most breast cancer cells. His team created a vaccine
containing an antigen against the protein, causing the immune system to
attack it. In their research, the vaccine even proved successful in
shrinking existing tumours. However, although this vital protein is not
found on normal breast cells, it is present in women who are lactating.
As such, the vaccine would only be suitable for women who are not going
to breast feed in the future. This week, many in the normally
cautious world of science hailed the vaccine as "monumental", claiming
it had the potential to eradicate breast cancer for good.Breast
cancer, which is the most common form of the disease after skin cancer,
accounts for almost a third of all cancers in women in Ireland
and is responsible for at least 640 deaths every year.Up to now,
only two cancer-prevention vaccines have been approved for use, one
against cervical cancer and the other against liver cancer. However,
these vaccines target viruses -- namely the human papillomavirus (HPV)
and Hepatitis B (HBV). This is the first time that a vaccine has been
developed that will target cancer formation itself."Tumours are
like drunks in a bar," says Dr Tuohy, "turning up and saying and doing
things they shouldn't. Once they take root, they are very hard to
eliminate and trying to treat cancer has been terribly disappointing.
Preventing it in the first place would be much easier. "If you
can isolate the proteins that are acting up in the body, you can do
that. We think that breast cancer is a completely preventable disease
in the same way that polio is completely preventable."We have a
wonderful vaccination programme for children that protects us from
polio, measles and 17 different diseases -- but it stops at age 13.
There's nothing fancy about what we've done. We're vaccinating against
something that isn't there -- unless you already have a tumour -- so it
shouldn't harm you and it should kill the tumours."The next step
for Dr Tuohy and his team is to get funding so that the vaccine can go
into human trials, a process which could begin next year. However, it
will be at least a decade before the vaccine itself is approved for use
in the general public. The cancer research community in Ireland
has welcomed the development as impressive."This is a big
milestone in the war against cancer and definitely one of the biggest
breakthroughs we've had," says Professor
William Gallagher of the UCD
School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science."And the study
was published in Nature Medicine, a journal you don't really get into
unless you are going to have a big impact. The beauty of it is that you
could shut off the need for treatment if you can prevent the disease
from coming all together."But cancer cells are just modified
versions of our own cells, so if you try to immunise against your own
cells you have to be very careful," says Prof Williams, whose
research focus is breast and skin cancer."The other problem with
a disease like breast cancer is that it can be germinating for over 20
years and has often already spread before you can find it in
mammography."Cancer is very clever. The ability of tumour cells
to spread kills 90pc of people with the disease. Tumours even send out
signals from their primary location to preferred second sites they have
chosen for re-homing. It's a bit like going off to a holiday home and
preparing it in advance. The tumour releases proteins, sent through the
bloodstream, to the bone marrow, liver or brain, for example, and tells
them to create an environment there where it can grow."The idea
that a cure for cancer might be just around the corner has been tempered
by another important fact: just because the new vaccine works in mice
does not mean it will be effective in humans. The most
experimented-on creature in this history of humanity share over 90pc of
their genes with humans and their main biological body systems work in
the same way as ours -- but a mouse can never produce all the answers.Trial
researchers in labs often give doses to mice that are much higher than a
doctor could safely use on a patient. To make a drug suitable for human
use means managing the side effects, a process that can take years to
tackle. However, that should not take away from the value of mice
to some of the world's most significant medical advances, including the
discovery of penicillin, the role of vitamins and understanding how
genes work. As women's hopes were raised by the prospect of a new
weapon in the battle against their most common form of cancer, it was
also an important week for men's health, following research that shows a
new vaccine for prostate cancer is safe and has few side effects. In
April, the US
Food and Drug Administration approved the vaccine, Provenge,
for use in men with advanced prostate cancer who have failed hormone
treatments.Unlike the breast cancer vaccine, it is a therapeutic,
not preventive, treatment made from the patient's own white blood
cells. These cells are removed from the patient and treated with the
drug; they are then placed back into the system. They then trigger an
immune response which in turn kills cancer cells and leaves normal ones
unharmed. In trials, some patients with the disease who had been
given a very limited time saw their lives extended by two to three
years. For those at the coalface of cancer research, the dream of
discovering a magic bullet against the disease has long been abandoned. But
there is a growing sense of optimism that while medicine may not be
able to wipe out this most complex of diseases forever, small,
incremental steps like this will ensure that more and more people lead
long healthy lives, keeping it at bay.Irish

More FBI Visits in California
by Peter Young

http://www.voicefromthecluelessorg/more-fbi-visits-in-california/

Following up on last week’s post, there is a report of a third person
visited by the FBI in California. The FBI appears to be seeking
information on an animal rights activists believed to be known by
those visited.

In this latest incident, the person was an ex-vegan, and the FBI
attempted to capitalize on this “revision of belief” by requesting
this person speak to them. The person reportedly refused to talk. The
FBI stated in this interview attempt that they were aware this person
was no longer vegan.

It is clear the FBI is attempting to exploit weaknesses and conflicts
in our movement to gather intelligence which will aid them in their
goal of imprisoning the A.L.F., and other facets of our movement they
deem a threat. It should be expected the three reports received so far
are only the tip of the iceberg, and that many more activists or
former activists have been contacted.

Be vigilant, and know why it is never OK to speak to the FBI.

FBI Making the Rounds in California

Information is still coming in, but today the FBI visited at least two
individuals in California apparently seeking information on another
activist. The FBI reportedly left a business card on the doorstep of
one person, and contacted the parents of a second. The person the FBI
is apparently seeking information on has been a recent and visible FBI
target in connection with an out-of-state Animal Liberation Front
action. More information will be posted as it is available and
cleared to make public.

It is important to make news of FBI visits immediately public and
bring a spotlight on FBI intrusion into our movement.

More info to come.

Arson Attack Closes Utah Leather Store
by Peter Young
Jun 9th, 2010
http://www.voicefromtheclueless.org/arson-attack-closes-utah-leather-store/

Mysterious break-in and arson reported at Tandy Leather Factory store
in Salt Lake City

Sometime last week, the Tandy Leather Factory in Salt Lake City was
the target of an apparent arson attack. This mysterious, (so far)
unclaimed arson comes just weeks after at a similar unclaimed arson at
the Sheepskin Factory store in Denver. The arson appears to have at
least temporarily shut down the store, located at 1107 South State
Street in Salt Lake City. As of yet, neither the Animal Liberation
Front nor other animal liberation group has taken credit.

According to a post on a gun-talk forum, an employee of another Tandy
location stated that someone broke into the Salt Lake City store,
spread an “accelerant”, and set the store on fire. The quote from the
post:

“I went to the Tandy store in West Valley, and the owner there said
that someone had broken into the SLC store (his store was unharmed)
and spread “an accelerant” up and down the aisles, especially over
where they store their leather.”

Local media have not yet picked up the story of the arson.

Local activists visited the location and confirmed the building was
closed, boarded up, and had clearly sustained fire damage. A sign on
the door read “Closed for fire clean up”.

This is the latest in a long line of actions at animal exploitation
targets for which no claim of responsibility by activists is made. The
true motive of this action can not be known, but a store selling the
skins of animals would be a legitimate target for the A.L.F.

This is the second Tandy leather store to be targeted in an arson
attack. In June 1995, the Animal Liberation Front set fire to the
Tandy Leather in Murray, UT, causing $300,000 damages.

PETA at it again
by NormanXDm on Sat 05 Jun 2010 6:37 pm

With my budding little holster business, I've become a frequent
visitor to the Tandy store on State Street - about 1100 South. Nicest
people you'd ever want to meet.

I ran down today to pick up some supplies, and found the place boarded
up, and what appeared to be smoke covered windows. The owner of the
pawn shop next door was out on his sidewalk, so I asked him what
happened. He frowned and said "PETA."

I went to the Tandy store in West Valley, and the owner there said
that someone had broken into the SLC store (his store was unharmed)
and spread "an accelerant" up and down the aisles, especially over
where they store their leather.

This kind of stuff just makes my head want to explode - I do not
understand what the activists think they are proving by these cowardly
actions. They aren't hurting Tandy, they aren't hurting Herman Oak
(tannery), they are hurting the franchise owners. In fact, I strongly
suspect that the actual perps couldn't give a rat's [bum] about
animals, and just want an excuse to justify their deviant social
behavior.

The store will reopen - probably next week. I'd encourage everyone
who's ever had a hankering to try their hand at leather to pay them a
visit and give them some business. We can't let the cowards win.

Please forgive the rant - this has really got me upset...
