Here is a neat conibear set: Cut a wooden stake with a point on one end, and a angle cut on the other to fit the trap spring eye. Pound the stake in the ground, twist the trap spring eye down and your trap is solid and ready. Add some grass & etc to camo the trap a little. Works great along water way trail sets. Don't forget to put on the mink wires to the trigger.

Blind sets seem to be one of the best for mink. along waters edge, culverys, dryland trail and the bottom edge set, old muskrat dens. pocet sets baited with fish, crayfish work good and any comercal bait and or a good lure with a longspring/coilspring/conibear bedded in front. PVC set same as coon.

Try a 4 ft culvert coni box with 110 or 120's in shallow feeder streams. Works good for me re rats and mink.

No bait or lure just a blind set as mink like to investigate holes ect. A mink lure might help but I have never tried it.

That looks like that would really work. How well does it work you get more mink or rats with it

I get more rats than mink simply because there is more of them around than mink as ccoyote suggested. At todays rat prices thats just fine with me.

HERES A SET THAT WORKS GREAT FOR ME ON MINK, UNDER A BRIGDE OR BIG CULVERT THAT HAS BIG ROCKS YOU WILL SEE WHERE MINK GO ON TOP OF THEME. MINK DO THIS TO GET A BIRDS EYE VEIW INTO THE WATER IN SEARCH OF PREY. GET SOME SOD FROM THE BANK AND PUT IT UPSIDE DOWN ON THE ROCKS THE MINK USE. BE SURE TO PUT A PLASTIC BAG IN THE HOLLOW OF THE SOD BED WHERE YOULL PUT YOUR TRAP. I USE A 1.5 COIL WITH A DRAG FOR THIS SET. COVER TRAP WITH SOME LOSE DRY GRASS LEAVES ECT. OR SIFT DRY DIRT LIKE YOU WOULD AT A DIRTHOLE SET. THERE YOU HAVE IT ANOTHER GREAT BLIND SET! MANY BRIGDES I TRAP THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THESE MINK CAUSE THERE IS NOTHING BUT ROCK PILED UP ALONG THE WALLS. THE ROCKS YOULL SET AT WILL BE CLOSE TO THE WATER. LOOK FOR MINK DUNG ON THESE ROCKS. SET THOSE ROCKS! OR IN WINTER WHEN SNOW IS ON THE GROUND YOU WILL SEE WHAT ROCKS THEY USE. KEEP NOTE OF THOSE ROCKS AND SET THEME BEFORE THE WATER WAYS ICE UP SOLID. GOOD LUCK MINKERS!!! BEAVER71

I cut a grove in a tree that is in the water and on the bank the grove must be larger than the trap then cover the trap with wet leafs and the tree to then put your bait on both sides of the trap and have a be sure to have a heavy tree so if you get a coon you won't have him dragging it down stream.

I am a strong supporter of Catch and Reset trapping.

It's the best practice for our sport!

I USE MANY TYPES OF TRAPS FOR MINK. AMOUNG ONE OF MY BEST IS THE #1 JUMP B-L.I HERE ALOT OF NEGATIVE ABOUT THIS TRAP. I HAVE VERY GOOD LUCK WITH IT. THEY ARE A STRONG LITTLE TRAP AND I HAVE NEVER LOST A MINK OR COON IN THIS TRAP. COONS CANT GET AT THEIR FEET WITH THESE LITTLE GUYS. I WOULD LIKE TO HERE FROM OTHER TRAPPERS THAT HAVE USED THEM. THANKS

Find Vinke's video post about his floating cage. Works on mink and rats!

Sure, you can use cage traps. Put them anywhere you'd put a blind set or a tube trap. Try some bait or lure. Vinke does it. I'm sure you can too.
