birddog1 OP trapper B Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 46 Central Texas	Could someone advise the proper procedure for replacing springs on montgomery dogless traps. The spring pin is blocked by the pan. Do you bend the frame cross-member down enough to pull the pan from under the jaws or do you bend the connection at the pan and remove it. Appreciate any help. Ken

RdFx trapper R Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 6,289 Wisconsin	You can make a "spring tool" by using a pole barn spike of approximately six inches and putting a "roll pin" on it. The roll pin will pound on end of spike easily and with the 6 inch pole barn spike you have leverage to take springs off or on. Good luck. RdFx
