I'll throw in a few pictures...

Full frame 15x15x36.

15x20x48 Fold down with straight drop door (full frame). Over 100 pound cougar. Did a job on the door until I started putting rod across center.

15x18x36 Full frame. One of my cats this year.

11x18x36 Half full frame (combo) Another cat I caught this year.

Set of three combos. Half frame.

48 inch fold down.

15x18x36 Full frame. But now all come with solid pans. (Todd's favorite)

Cagemaker, I ran into some health problems last year and didn't make any of the planned trips. In fact, it even canceled my trip up to WA for a visit with Mr. Havahart himself.

If it weren't for shipping, I'd run all of your cages. Looks like they'll outlast me and I have heard nothing but GREAT things.

What make of cage is that?

How much "duff" do you put on the bottom to cover the wire?

livetrap, do you know anyone who drives truck. I have a lot of truckers stop when going through NE. I'm not to far from I80. had one stop the other day and we put 6 fold-downs in his sleeper. (not good). saves money on shipping.

I wish. I have exhausted myself on figuring out how to get some of your cages here and not break the bank. I MUST own some of your cages... and before next season!

Johns cages wonderfully built. Quality thru and thru. Very nice. Durable etc. etc. I honestly don't know how he sells them so reasonably. They are easily worth more than he asks.
But Cadillacs VS Geos. Come on. A frame less cage cannot be a quality cage?
It's apples and oranges. An all purpose cage (Schroeder type) and a cage specifically designed to catch fox and cats in large quantities. "A LONG LINE CAGE TRAP" if you will. Absolutly no comparison. They are simply two seperate pieces of equipment.
Running a large cage line with the larger, heavier cages is way too much work and too many trips hauling cages.
Cages like mine and the Reid Aiton/Stacy yancy cages that I followed are narrow and light weight for a reason. Narrow for many reasons including keeping non targets out like dogs and COONS. Why in the world would I want a twelve dollar coon clogging up my cat cage? If I am catching coons I am not on target for the cats.
Now I have only caught 15-20 coons in my cages ever so no real experience here and I am sure fifty people are going to post how phenominally tuff a coon is, but the ones I caught just pull tons of trash into the cage and have never done any real damage to the cage other than a couple bent pans. I use the top end 1X1 riverdale wire so that probably helps.
From what I have seen comparing the Schroeder cages I bought several years ago and what is available now, nestling cages, narower, only partial frames, hmm?

Livetrap- If you want some Schroeders I have six sets of two , an 11 inch inside of a 13 inch $100 per set. I took them in trade. They were new this year. Used for three weeks. U pick them up.

furhvstr, maybe I should of said apples and oranges, but I like both. I own a cadillace but NOT a geo. LOL. nothing rong with your cages. It seams like (take the rookes mountains) east people are different. go west they are different. I know my cages are way to cheap. my set of 3 cost $173 how about yours.

$270 and can't build enough.
Just came back from UPS shipping USED cages out.
Waiting list for when I get time to build more already started.
Never started this to become a cage builder and by selling only the one style and set of three (add a fourth when requested) I limit my customer base. which is fine with me.
I referred many people to you this past year after identifying their needs and locality, (and budget)

ML.

Riverdale available from Klubertanz.
1X1 14 ga is a tremendous pain out here on the West coast for the guy just trying to build a few cages. I got a pallet last time and saved a bunch. You can find the over seas stuff but it is worthless.
My source for the Red Brand/keystone dried up (it is NOT made in America anyways) but am working on a deal for some good quality foreign stuff (not china) right now.
Maybe John can correct me if I am wrong but the research I have done is that there is in fact NO truly "made in America" 1X1 14 GAW wire. The closest would be the Riverdale which is "assembled in America" with galv strands brought in from overseas.

20 pounds each??? Good grief, I'd be surprised if my Safeguards weigh 5, and they'll hold any coon in Nebraska.
