Going out on a limb here, but otter being mustelids have scent glands on either side of their anus....don't you use them?

Also, testicals are organs like a heart, lungs, skin, ect. not glands. They are the reproductive organs.

caught over 30 otter last season and didn't cut a single one out. have 10 already this season and all gone to the dump...may try to harvest a few...ASA's lure is good enough for me and not that expensive. How much are glands worth?

I pulled some out last year and put them in a snuff can and set them on the shelf in my basement...actually I'm not sure what they'd be good for...but I'll bet they're stinky by now, lol

What would you use them for? For otters?

I've got to admit I've never heard of using those parts from an otter. K9's and Cat's yes, but not otters. I've been occasionally able to sell the scent glands mentioned by wingnut, but never the other parts.

I always collect the vent/musk gland ... just my take on it but you aint got much of nothing going on if you're using/collecting only the neck glands and testicles ... but what do I know wink grin
