Aquaseal is the only way to go.
If the hole is big(like a mouse chewed through it) you can cut a patch for it out of a mouse pad. It works better than anything I've tried.

Ahh, yes gryhkl mousepad will work well, i would still coat the the whole exterior side of the with aquaseal.
