Canvas back I have 4 of those although they are the cheaper nylon ones that guys put bullets in, I dont use them I found them in alder patches. Those things just fall off and end up in shrew nests. for 300 plus buy a synthetic stock and dont worry about scratches.

Those things just fall off and end up in shrew nests

Thats why you cut a slot where the sling swivel sticks through... They don't fall off then....

Woke up today to 41 degrees, wind, and hardly any snow left again, this winter is shaping up to be HORRIBLE.

Maybe the guy'll trade a $300 ermine for the stock cover.

I don't know if anyone mentioned, but we got about 18" of snow last week in Eagle River and more to the East. I think Anchorage only had maybe 8 or 10", though. I was glad to see it fall, but it made snowshoeing tough last weekend.

The river was so close to going solid it was great now we are raining! Dang I am tired of sitting and waiting time to just get out and get some steel out even if it means pulling it all in a week or 10 days

It is killing me too Todd. I will now be burning up slides again to go and trip my sets until we get more snow again.

It's a good day to put up some fur and bang out some snares. Hopefully we'll get some snow tomorrow or the next day.

I'll be snapping half my line next check, I'm giving up making the loop to my cabin with lack of snow and marten not wanting to climb and since I refuse to put traps on the ground I'll wait till next yr but still plan to get to the cabin and make a few wolf sets and hope a loner or two come through.
