Grovetrappers, you're eyes clearly deceive you on this one!
This 'coon was released unharmed!
While it may appear the wrist is twisted, it actually was NOT injured, neither was the foot damaged in the
1/2 gapped, laminated jaws, (ie: clearly not cut or chewed) with #2 twist link chain and a double swivel attached to a Picket Pin swivel at the stake,( not pictured.) The trap is also 4 coiled. The swivel
pictured is only a single and is off the trap frame. clearly something I have updated since that time,(mid 70's).
Take a closer look at the foot....not even swollen. Now take your wrist and se how far you can twist it backwards....see there! If the wrist had been broken, there would be a skin abarasion and fluid build up.
Yet, there is not one hair out of place on the 'coon's foot.
You seem to forget just how stout a 'coon that size is!
As I stated, this 'coon was released unharmed, as it was trapped a week before season.
