I checked the archives and couldnt find what im looking for. I need a good HOMEMADE skunk lure recipe. I dont mean one that has a bunch of stuff in it that i have to get from a dealer. I need a recipe that i can make with common house hold products. Thanks in advance.

eggs,fish,p-nut butter/jelly/syrup, really I believe anything will attract a skunk.

I havent caught a skunk in 4 years. Im starting to get worried

If you aren't on them or you dont have many, then you wont catch many.Typically skunks arent hard to catch if you have them. Set up around old buildings, brush piles, hay storage areas,edges and trails.If you set these areas and still dont catch any skunks you just dont have them there.

Oh we have skunks here. I shoot em in the yard all the time. I just cant seem to catch any in the spots they used to be. I had one that i was smelling every day, so i knew his den was close, but i never could connect with him.

go to the doller store, buy a can of jack mack, set the trap,collect the skunk,coon or mink. works on all 3

blue cheese , limburger cheese , asafoetida

Anything will do...but I like Duck, chicken, goose, or any bird meat.

After you catch the first one, make sure he sprays and reset. You'll catch every skunk in the country, they can't resist the smell of another skunk.

There is no catch all lure or bait for skunk.Some say kfc chicken,mayonase,peanut butter and mallassess,rotton eggs,skunk essence,fish,tunafish,marshmellows and the list goes on but if the skunk has other things on his mind during the off season that is some or all of the above won't work.....Which i found out the hard way with a deer camera and the customers thinkin"where did we find this guy"...LoL....After season started i've caught them in cages with hiawatha valley where they dug a trench half way around the trap till they got to the opening.....Save them chicken bones and good luck..........Mike

And here I try to use locations and lure so I won't catch a skunk.

Sardines pull them out of the Weeds into the Security light at night... then Bang!!!

I worked nights at first brands in Amherst county Va tuna salad sandwiches seem to be able to do the same thing. But the ones I had in the back yard I used cheese to capture them with.

I quit using eggs or sardines in my dry coon sets cause it seemed I would catch about every skunk in the county. Buzzard probably would sell you a good skunk lure for 50 bucks or so.
