For a hat, medium to large red fox normally takes one. If there are lots of holes or rubs, I'd need two. Mittens take two good ones.

A new idea for that Alaskan Auction> smile ( Now, white17, don't laugh, !! laugh )

Seeing as White17 has got the courage to take a Lower 48'er on his trapline for what is it , 10 days or so ?? , How about someone come up with a nice fishing trip in Alaska when the weather is not so, how shall I say this ??? So DANG COLD ???!!!?? LOL grin grin

Who is up for it ? There could be 2 separate trips to bid on . One for Salt-water fishing and another fishing trip for Fresh-water. I see a 5 to 7 day fishing trip with lodging and all meals provided... Winner would just have to pay for their round trip air fare and bring their own gear for fresh water , and/ or the salt water trip.

Anyone want to volunteer???????

There could be a few legal complications in that proposal. Fishing and hunting are looked at differently than trapping. It's possible but I don't know if anyone would want to jump through the legal and financial hoops to offer that.

I agree with White, if you could find a licensed guide to do it, then it would be ok. But not just anyone that knows where good fishing it.

I checked out the ADFG website in regards to guiding for fishing. They DO have a lot of regulations for it.

I have been a licensed fishing guide for about 15 years now in Alaska, I'm not sure about how a auctioned trip would apply. But if the trip involves a boat, the captian at least needs a 6 pack license, insurance probably would also be on the list, I had 1,000,000 imdemity insurance. The auction if it was for a slatwater trip would be a pretty costly one especially if lodging ect.. was involved. I was getting 1200 a day for 4 people/ day without lodging. If some-one can do it that would be great but who-ever it is; will be really spending some serious coin out of there own pocket for the cause.
