On another note, I accidently cut off a middle aged lady somewhere near the Hilton. She promptly gave me the finger and honked her horn. I rolled down the window and yelled, "Sorry! I'm from Bethel!" smile

I hate Anchorage.

I googled that Muldoon rd. 4 lane rd , moderate amount of traffic , some businesses and mix of houses. not a bad area. A bit more crowded than I would like, though.

I took a picture of the place for you CB

That may be nice, but I have a feeling it may end up a little more like this

LOL..MP..hard to miss that eye sore...but in fact that building was the store for Sheperd trading company that had a cannery and bought fish in the summer, and fur in the winter,my friends went to that building and bought a sack of candy with a muskrat skin, there dad gave them when they asked for money to go to the store.... smile..they even had there own money as in tokens, good for $ trade at his store LOL..he did speak fluent Yupik and took care of the people, they all had new outboards and later four wheelers and snowmachiens, and unlimited credit in the winter as long as they fish for him in the summer...times were good then.
it was bought out by the local corporation and still bought fur up into the 80s...I used to sell fox there for a $56 average, right before the bottom fell out
but the building is condemed and going to fall...on the other side in spray paint it reads.."any day now". LOL
the junk trucks are waiting for a ride on the Barge, out of the village,to be recycled..

I was in MTV in Late may, I had some time to kill in St Marys so we went and checked it out. I didn't know all the historic features of the building but I did get a kick out of spray paint job so i took a pic. Thanks for the history.

I remember that building about 15 years ago. Was even in side it. Wow, it doesn't look any better.

Yah, and I'd like to see some video of you using that wing bone call that you handed down to old George and got back in his will. smile

That wasn't a wing bone. It was fossilized protoplasm that I found on the shore line of Lake Agassiz while fishing.

Would those old Blake & Lamb # 2 1/2 Single Long Spring traps be of much use to trappers in Alaska ? It's a #3 with one longspring.
