Ive been making a few the last several days. Been using 20d nails. Putting them on water traps so far. Im going to make some up for yote/cat/fox traps soon. I was thinking of going to 30d for them What do you think? A 20d swivel welded up is pretty strong. What size are you using?

KY, I made my "S" and "J" hooks out of 20d bright nails and they work well.

May your trapline be vast and stretcher filled!

I used 16p for years and never had any problems. That was before I had to worry about yotes though. Have caught a few with them though.

I made my own bender. I can only do 1 at a time. I use 20p commons. Weld a 5/16 nut on and #6 j hook. Welded up 300 of them a couple weeks ago. RD

Ive been making the body and swivel out of 20d nails. I to use the 5/16 nut. I tried a standard j-hook in it and it fit very well. I weld the swivel shut after its on the trap. I may use the standard j-hooks on my cat/yote traps.

Well thats a coincedence. I just did a duke #1 1/2 and a # 11 the same way today I like those "sterling" style swivels. Gives you something to do in the down time to.
