Most guys buy large up, 13+ at one $. Groney buys 14 1/2 -15+ as one $, then the 13-14 1/2 go with the med. rats, at less than they are worth. And that's the name of the game, averages out overall at alot less $. Like Chucky says, an old, old bait game thats been going on since the turn of the century. sucks in the unaware and not so keen.

BTW, Cleosdad, Steve, a really nice guy, is best buds with NAFA rep Greg Schroeder. I would think that Steves' assessment of the rat market is a NAFA report, unofficially. Beware if you ship. I'm afraid that NAFA will let the rats go cheap as an appreciation to their ranch mink customers, as was the case in May. The mink sale ended, first wild fur up, rats, thats never happened before. Same guys buying the ranch mink, buy the rats. They wanna go home, so NAFA gives them a goodbye present?

First off, Mr.B, we know that you work for Groney. The 7 posts that you've made on Trapperman are always the same. I told everyone a month ago, that Groney would come through and pick out a few rats at $5. That doesn't surprise me at all. I paid as high as $6 last season, and will probably do the same this year. Most fellas are well aware of Groney' method of buying. He'll pay high on a few skins here and there, and end up with a lower ave. than any other buyer. Was talking to a dealer out of Indiana just the other day, and he told me that those exact words came out of Groneys mouth a short while ago. Told him that he could set up down the road, throw out a few fancy prices, and end up buying the rats cheaper than anyone else could.
Mr b is busted!

Can't be now the season is not even open yet in Ohio. Won't be for another week so it is not this year. And I am not defending groney as I dislike the way they do things. But those are pretty low numbers.

behcon, the Coon market is bad, take what you can get.you got screwed on your rats, there IS a Rat market don't sell your rats at that price especially now that they are starting to prime up.Hold them and you'll see.

lt grey if your rats are even close to a good michigan rat and they will only give you a $1.00 average then i would like to see them and as i said if they match up to my area they are worth alot more then the dollar average,so yes i would be interested in buying them ...
