cody16 cody16 trapper Registered: 11/18/07 Posts: 622 Loc: southern maryland	well my rabit dog was walking with me yesterday and got lose well he ran down in th brush and started barking wen i got there he had killed a moma rabit and found the 3 babies which eyes r still closed he killed one but i got him away can i still raise them this wen there this younge or am i waisting my time we have few rabits around here so if i can do anything to save these 2 babies i will _________________________ JUST A MAN DOIN WUT I CAN WITH WHAT I GOT MY SEASON IS OVER!!!!:(

Woofman Woofman trapper Registered: 01/23/07 Posts: 769 Loc: Connecticut	You could try to find out if there are any wildlife rehabilitators in your area. Try calling your DEP or google it. They could give you advice or take over the care.

Gary Gary trapper Registered: 01/08/07 Posts: 8405 Loc: Indiana	ive raised many litters after the mothers had been ran over by bushhogs, when i was young, takes up alot of time, and will lose, some from each litter, best to leave em be, too bad ya dog killed the mother, for some strange reason im thinkin some of the youngins on here are out on hunts to catch baby critters, not a good idea, anyhow, good luck with the rabbits _________________________

cody16 cody16 trapper Registered: 11/18/07 Posts: 622 Loc: southern maryland	its not that i want baby critters its that the fox ran the area killed almost all the rabits so me and some friends killed a amount of the fox around here and want to rebuild the rabits back up so even lossing 2 future moma rabits is hard for me cause if i cant git rabits to survive here we wasted alot of time _________________________ JUST A MAN DOIN WUT I CAN WITH WHAT I GOT MY SEASON IS OVER!!!!:(

That shuts down her sense of smell for a while, and the new kits intermingles with the others and starts to smell like them. Seemed to help minimize the rejections.
