I recorded these back on the 1st of March but just now got them resized to a reasonable size to post them. It was my first ever trapping attempt and I went 2 for 2 on my first 2 checks.

Just click on the links to activate them, they are windows media files.

I haven't figured out how to make the little thumbnails of the videos yet. Nothing too exciting but I was pretty happy with it being my first ever trapping attempt.

Here is one for you fellas that have not seen it. The fella setting the grizz is a fella I trapped with a couple years. It shows how we use drowning rods on grizz traps.

Two for Two is a pretty darn good catch ratio! I hope you keep it up for your whole trapping career \:\)

LOL Don..I think he was more worn out from throwing him up the hill than he would have been carrying it up.

Nice work on those coons. You said before that you had a lot of coons on your lease. Now if we could just paint them with a northern coon fur, you'd be rich.

Thanks everyone. The 2 for 2 was just on the first two groups of traps I set that night, overall I went 9 for 14 that night but I was still pretty happy. I learned a few weeks later that I wasn't an unfailable trapper when I went 0 for 14 on a clear night with a full moon. Then a couple weeks after that I went 3 for 14 two nights in a row. In total I caught 15 raccoons on my 160 acres.

I think I really put a dent in the population, my neighbor put out some live traps and had gone 3 for 3 with them last year and didn't catch anything this year. I let him borrow a couple lil griz and he caught 1 raccoon with the lil griz in 3 nights.

Things are looking up for the turkey and quail nests around the area this spring!
