Do you folks sew the leg holes on beavers or is it just as good to insert a block of wood in the leg hole and pin it shut? Sewing is a long drawn out process for me!
Why do you borax them? I'm sure it speeds the drying time, but what other reason is there for this? Or, are you just talking about hitting the folded leg portions with borax, not the whole pelt?
If your front leg holes on the beaver protrude when its on the board just fold over and use 1 nail to pin it down. Just nail the back leg holes over to the other side.

if your front legs are a bit long cut them off and then pull the edges togeather and nail shut. Try not to fold over to much hide by doing so you could have some taint. Both front legs and hind leg holes should be trimed before nailing shut. You boys talking about sewing and hog ringing must be using hoops.
