I bought mine at a flea market. It's just a heavy duty turkey cooker. I guess this is what you mean. Later Longear

turkey fryer and a propane tank like used with a grill is simple and effective. What I use. The fryer basket makes it simple to remove traps from boiling water without having to fish for them.

1/2 a 55 gallon drum, some cinder blocks and firewood works fine here.

I think that Nothern sold them at one time. You might check with them to see if they still sell them. Later J.J.

Been down the road with the wood fire, toooo smokey and messy!

I cut off the upper part of the water heater tank, cleaned out the "junk" that was in there and used that(with the heating element attached) and LP for several years. It workedd good.

I had a 100-pound LP tank and it lasted me 4 or 5 years before I had to refill it. I had to move my stuff out of that farm (it got sold) so I let that cooker go too.

Been using two COLEMAN 2-burner Camp Stoves and large a kettle to do my cooking and a galvanized bucket for waxing traps since then. I use the Regular Coleman Gas in them. One can lasts about two seasons.... I paid $2.00 for one stove and NOTHING for the other one. They both work just fine......

Bury a metal bucket upright open end up under your boiling rig, hole in side of it with weed burner inserted, can add some cinder blocks to keep wind out if you wish, same outfit has been used for 40 years to heat branding irons, bend pipe when build cattle corrals, warm well pullers in mid wnter, heat stock dams etc.

if you can find a chemistry supply they have what your looking for.....pretty cheap also.......thats what i used b4 my turkey frier......you can super heat the water like a blow torch to give it a boost on heating then turn it back when its boiling......i still use it to help get to the boiling point....

Harbor Freight had a major recall on those things a few years ago as they had a tendency to explode. Make sure you get a new model. I use a Fish Fry/Turkey cooker, works great, cheaper, and cooks fish too!

Here is the set up I use . Can't beat the propane . I used an old furnace burner before I got the torch . I used it for 2 years . Then made the switch .Much cleaner . Takes about 45 mins to get the water boiling . Depending on the outside temp . I do it on a warm sunny day in Sept

I used to have a heating element out of the oven of a propane stove hooked it up to a hose and a 20 pound propane tank, it worked great!

I personaly use a coleman 2 burner camping stove now. In my experience the temp outside has little to do with how long it takes to boil. What I've found to being the biggest determining factor is the wind. Have a calm day and water will be boiling in no time at all. If it's windy seems like it takes forever to boil.
