I was grinding more castors today been doing the same process for a good many years now.I got to thinking when i was a youngster i bought a bottle of castor i believe it was the OL Butchers brand. This type of castor was real dry almost like a fine coffee. My question how do i get castor that dry,Do i grind it and let it dry more and grind it again.I dry my castor to a certain extent now but not were it plays heck to run through a grinder. Thanks Dane

I have six very large castors left maybe this would be good to process into powder. What method does a person use to pound it to powder.

Here is a little food for thought. Grind your castor into a fine paste dont add anything to it at this point except water if needed. Get a baking pan with sides and place thin layers in the oven for a little while. It will dehydrate the castor in time. Stir as needed until dry then cool. Run thru a sifter screen,or one made with another type of screen grid size of your choice. A food processor or blender is great also depending on the size grid you are seeking as the end result.

If doing this in the summer you can sun/air dry in the same manner if you choose to do so and eliminate the artificial heat.Or using a heat lamp will suffice when temps and conditions are not suitable.

I suspect you might want to do this when no one is home.LOL I have microwaved castor also in smaller batches to achieve dried castor.I have a stove/oven in my formulation building and a microwave so you trappers that dont might want to exercise some discression when attempting this in your residence kitchen. If you get into trouble I will deny everything.

I wont go into any greater detail then this so no pms please. You have to figure some of this out on your own like I did.

When it comes to using the kitchen for such things my moto is "She'll get over it" or "Better to ask forgivness than permission"

Lucky me, my wife doesn't mind except for the skunk. Most of the time she's right in there helping. The last formula I came up with smelled kinda skunky to me, she thought it was kinda sexy. I don't even try to figure her out anymore:)
