Just thought I would show you what I came up with this season for pipe trapping. All in one stake and pipe just add a trap and bait and over the bank you go.

i noticed your "t" rebar was welded at the top... if you weld your "t" about 3/4 of an inch from the top of the stake you can drive them w/a hammer and don't have to worry about busting the short piece of rebar off.....learn that by trial and error.......haha
thats a slick idea tho'

So, How Many Coon did you take using that "system" this past season? It looks interesting though......

First thought is that I'd leave the pipe longer so I could put the stake completely in the ground and have the pipe opening up several inches off the ground.

With the stake only partially in the ground, I don't think it would take a Coon very long to get the trap chain wrapped up around the "T" and pvc, which could be instrumental in the Coon pulling out by using the stake/pipe to his advantage... HUH?

Personally, I don't like to give Coon ANYTHING to get wrapped up in. Result is very few pull-outs....

Just My 2-cents....

Good thinking. Have a finished set pic and maybe some trap placement info? Ya know I'd bet you could sell those things.

I saw some similar on ebay last year. Only they had a short piece of steel pipe where the PVC is on yours.

I agree with TexA's theories.

I don't have any action shoots, I just got my camera. I olny made up a hand full this year I wanted to see how they would work and work out the kinks. I had no problems with the coon twisting out in them and I used them in spots where there was nothing for a coon to grab so they couldn't pump the stake up. I used them on mud bars, feeder springs/sreams, at calverts, and pond edges. I caught about 20 coon with only 6 of them in a week. Thanx for the input on the problem you guys see.

Not saying It won't work but It seems like a lot of work when you can just jam a chunk of PVC in the ground and stake your trap.
But us trappers like to tinker. But I"m a beliver In the KISS method.

I like it. It would be easier to pound a rebar stake in hard ground than it would a piece of pvc.

looks like you could use the rebar as one end of a drowner, kind of like bringing in your own pocket, instead of digging one.
