I have set yote traps and can not catch one, I have made the same sets for fox and can catch them but no yotes. I set the trap about 6-8 inches away from hole. Dirthole on 98% of them, I am using yote lure and GH2 and Cats Galore and K9 form dobbons but no luck on yotes. Any help would be great. They are alot of them around where a I am trapping but no luck, I know they are smart but I figured alittle luck once in a while.LOL Thanks Dave

First off you are heading into the breeding season for the yotes. Are you getting any visits, tracks around the sets, are they circling the set. If not then you might need to adjust yourlocation. The lures are good and they work, I have used them.

I cant really see anything wrong with you sets, fox trappers catch alot of yotes in their sets.

Tell us more info about whats going on at and around the set.

Agree with flatset If your catching foxes you chould be picking up a few yotes. They might not be as common as you think. If they are you need to video tape everything you do and you could make a fortune selling it as a surefire way to keep yotes out of fox sets.

Keep doing what you are doing. Like the others said, maybe try some different locations. If you are not seeing coyote sign near your sets then you need to go to where the coyote sign is. You cannot go wrong with Dobbins lures.

Go to the coyotes.

GHll is a good lure for coyotes, fox and cats. If you have tracks that close to your sets your lure might be a little HOT! Maybe needs to cool down a little. If your catching fox you`ll catch coyotes as well.

block it up and get the lure deep in a hole, make it so he cant get to the hole at all unless he steps down into the trap, takes a few days but they get very frstrated at not being able to get to it, cat trap him in other words.

Some good advice above but one more thing comes to mind. Sometimes overluring sets can make a coyote wary and suspicious. Remember, those coyotes can smell a mianimum of 400 times more acutely than humans. Try using a lesser amount of lure or a milder smelling lure and then staying completely away from the sets unless they need direct tending. Good luck! Ace
