Ok so whats everyone carry on the line? For me it is a ruger single 6 on the handlebars and either a 223 or a 22 mag in the scabbard. My son is wanting me to take his new 17 rem out while he is at school and shoot a critter with it but kinda feel like the first kill with his new gun should be his not mine. On occassion when some patarmigan show I will take the 12 ga along and collect some birds if the fishboss is wanting some for supper

Ideally, I like to carry 2 guns on the snogo, and a ruger Mk11 in a holster hanging off the handlebar. The 2 are a bushmaster and a 12 ga. Don't always have all 3 tho. Sometimes a 22 mag in place of the bushmaster. Rattling away in a scabbard on the cowl doesn't do the scope alot of good tho.

A .22 Airlite in my pocket, don't carry a rifle, wished I did this weekend as I saw another nice wolverine up on the lakeshore.

Ruger single6 in the tank bag, 10/22 in one scabbard and my .17hmr in the other.

When I was in good ptarmigan country I also carried a shotgun on my back.

Right now I just carry a Ruger MKII because I don't have a scabard on my new snowmachine. When I get figured out how I'm going to carry it I'll have a 22 mag.

I hadn't carried a gun on line until recently. With all of the "snowmachine gang" activity and recent violent activity around BET I've been urged by my wife to carry my only handgun, a .480 Ruger in a Taurus Raging Bull.

When we go and check the marten/lynx line, I bring my 10/22.

Hey Ox, why so many guns of similar caliber??? On the island I would have thought that the .17hmr might be the only thing you need. Do you have bunkers and razor wire around your house too??? \:\) How about a nuclear bomb shelter? \:\) ahhaahhaha

MT, did you get my PM?

Kusko every gun has its purpose. On the mainland I took the .223 instead of my new .17.

Thinking aobut bunkers aroundmy snowmachine \:\)

I have an amt 22 mag semi auto on the handlebars, and a stevens .223, in a gun boot on the rack. That gun boot works out real nice with the rack, and is a lot better than wearing it.

Fish...

I'm gonna send you my AK...that way if the Russians DO attack, you have something that will fire their ammo. You can raid their supply camp. Who knows...maybe they'll make Nunivak their central HQ for their invasion of the US....you can be like Steven Seagull...savin the world, one dead commie at a time!

Kusko...

Is that snowmobile gang crap still goin on? I haven't read anything about it recently. Somebody needs to plant one in those guys foreheads. It isn't MS13 infiltrating Bethel is it? (i'm partially serious)

What is MS13? I'm clueless. I haven't heard of anything as of late, but you never know. Someone is going to plant one in their head and then of course, the planter will get prosecuted instead of the "real" perp.

If I carried that many guns on my line, I'd have to adjust my shocks to allow for the amount of weight my snowgo could handle. \:\)

Personally, I would sell the 10/22 and the .17. Buy a 10/.22 mag and you'll have the best of both worlds. Firepower, accuracy, range and not as much bullet drift.

MS13 is the modern day italian mob...only it's of latin origins. They started out just running drugs and have slowly taken over any organized illegal activity. i know they are active in AK, because I've heard it on the TeeVee! It simply wouldn't surprise me. I'd imagine that there is A LOT of money to be made bootlegging.

Alright, need to see how you guys are "mounting" your pistols to your handle bars. I know some just duct tape a holster, but I want to see pics for this. I use a Walther P22 (sucks, but kills them just the same), and will be bringing the .223 as well. Its pics of "setup" time!!!!

I just Gorilla tape mine to the bars, with the pistol in it, and then wrap it around 6 or so times.
I was very hesitant to do it, but after 2 years, it never came off our out.
only seen one lost, and that was we had the mountian sleds and were out highmarking, and the guy ran up to the TOP and rolled it 42 times back down to the bottom, he lost his buck mark somewhere..and his sled, only lost 2 windshield clips. Man those ski doos are tough

fish,
you should be able to get a kolpin gun boot bracket to fit that rack, and they are way nicer to the firearm

Hupurest they are not nearly as nice on the firearm if I roll my machine though. These soft sided cases have worked great for me so far, even when I have rolled my machine. Since they sit right along the tunnel I have not had a problem when I have rolled. If I had a good boot it would have been destroyed I am sure of it.

good point, I have never rolled a machine, crashed at 80mph, but it didn't roll, I went flying though. I wish I was in a "hupurest" boot.

Roll your machine......are ya kidding? With studs, I've never rolled my machine. I have tipped it over, but with the gun boot on the rack, it's never been affected. But, I suppose that when you are hauling more guns then Alaska Airlines in September, you might run out of hard case places.

Here is question for you all. How many of you ride with your gun on your back or in front of you when it's slung? I used to ride with it on my back until I got so much snow and cold in my action that my bolt wouldn't cycle a round into the chamber when I was trying to shoot a moose. From now on, when I have it slung, it rides in front of me.

If I am doing a lot of walking or am going to carry it on my back while on a snowmachine, I have a M6 Scout .22lr over .410 that I carry. .22 isn't good for much besides dispatch, but good enough for me. If I want to shoot small game the .410 works fine although there are obvious range restrictions. The real kicker for the gun, is that it is the nicest gun made to carry on your back. You hardly know it is there. Very light, and short so no barrel to hang up on stuff.

I do that when there in a trap, but I run a boat about 20 miles mink trapping on the beach all the way down and have some marten lines running up creeks and I see quite a few mink running down the beach don't see as many marten not in traps but I do see some. I'm using 20gr cci xtp bullets and I have a post on here that shows what happens when they go threw a wolf. The copper jacket separated form the lead but the lead kept going.
