I have to do most of my predator trapping in sod here in Missouri. After I have my trap bedded I'm having trouble blending it in with the sod. The best I've came up with is using scissors to cut up grass on top of the set. I don't like how much it clogs the trap though, I've lost a few critters. If I would have collected lawn clippings this summer I know that they work well, but I didn't do that. Anyway, are there any good tricks to blend a trap in with sod other than ive mentioned?

How short are you cutting the grass? An 1/8th to 1/4 " is what works for me. Use dead grass instead if green, see if it helps any.

If using a dirthole set why worry? The critters dont blend in where they dug out a mouse. Fresh dirt is an added attractor IMO.

Flat sets ,yes by all means blend them.

I use scissors as well. I don't use enough to clog the trap, though. Maybe try trimming the grass around you trap area so you don't need so much.

Mowed leaves and grass together will blend in much better in most surroundings.

When I did it in cut hay fields, I'd just spread the grasses to expose the bare dirt. Then I'd dig and bed the trap bed and hole and sift dry dirt etc. back over the top. After that, I'd push the grasses that I spread opn back over the trap bed etc. That way there was no cut grasses to brown up and shrivel.
