I use a mixture of my own stuff. Molasses hope i spelled it right and beaver castor maple syrup peanutbutter and a small amout of pure skunk essence. Also Milligans big stinky works pretty good too.

I once tried marshmellows dunked in molasses, syrup, and vanilla. Tell ya' the truth it looked good enought to eat.
Didn't get anything.

Tried fish oil: didn't get anything

Then I tried sardines: frikin' grinner.

I figured match the bait with the territory. Water-trappin' use native fish like for me bluegill.
Trapping upland, use grease or the sweet stuff.
I dunno why, but those buggers were just not attracted to any of the stuff I was using. Any tips why?

I never used oils or any thing like that cuase i'v just been live trapping but i'm starting to foot hold trap!! for me its; canned cat food, sardines, dog food, and my bro caught this 9 inch brook trout and I was at the bear field trials and he didn't know how to gut it and what not (we eat a lot of trout) and I put the whole trout in the trap and caught a big ol' coon!

Moonshine, eh? So, would you even have to set a trap? Probably the coon would only get five ft from it with a hangover.

When and if I use anything, my choice is a Q-tip dipped in pure mink musk. I am not aware of a raccoon that will pass that by with half an egg shell next to it for sight appeal.
