I want to sit on ground with a couple of my best hunting buddies, with our rifles leaning next to a tree, and sip fine whiskey while talking of fine women we have known, and watch the northern lights perform their show.

The best northern lights I have ever seen were just in that situation a few years go at moose camp. Ton's of colors and it was almost like you could reach up and touch them. Truely a great time!

I used to see them all the time in N.MN. one night is January they were low in the sky and blood red!! It was so cold you could almost hear them crackling!!! No PIC could have done them justice. That is a great shot of them I have tried but never been able to get a good one.

years ago, local weatherman told about the possibility of seeing them, but as we are 50 miles south of lake erie and the cloud cover was extensive, we could not.

It must have been over 30 years now on an early morning getting out to go to work in the middle of Michigan I witnessed this. The lights were so bright and moving, that I just stood there for awhile. Almost late for work.

They can sure be mesmerizing. I've only seen the red ones once in over 30 years.
