made just like a normal leaning pole set but where the pole meets the tree wire/nail/etc the pole in a fashion to let the pole swivel ... ya will need to have the heavy end at the bottom to counter balance the pole after a catch .... place bait where the red spot is ... dig ditch ... fill with water .... next morning collect multiple catches !! ... get those skinnin knives sharp boys !!!! \:\)

Might work good on mice on a small scale, but don't think it will work most place they use leaning poles. What do you figure this set would work for?

Dont think they allow skinning knives in jail.

Well you might not get a prison sentence but a good fine.

I would classify this as a pitfall trap.

not if its just plain dirt that water wont stay in there. thats going to need to be a big pit if your catch squirrels, mink.. or martens.... be good for mice, and think thats about it. you need the pit higher then the water level by a few feet. too much work.

theory looks ok but it would have to be an awful big pit as a marten or mink even a squirrel could jump several feet to dry land as it falls or for even that matter hold on and climb back up they do climb straight up trees well not mink lol. I think I'll stick to traps, they were invented for a reason ;\)

I thing you need it over flowing water with an automatic skinner down stream of it.

I believe this might be illegal in some states. It would be here.
