Only problem I see is a coon moving it while reaching for the bait. Might work better if trap is attached to something solid with a smear bait on the pan.

Try covering the pan with tin foil, they can't resist shiny objects.

the white letters do add to the appeal of the set

if the hole in the rim is small enough, it wont pull the trap thru the hole.

If it was a big coon it could use its back feet and its one front food and pull its trapped paw out of the trap!! Kind of like if a tree is in reach of a trapped coon. He will pull himself out!!

OMG, the junk yards of America are going to have a run on old rims with flat tires! I'll know my competition has been readin' this forum if I see them lugging lots of old rims in the backs of their trucks.

Neat set. Saw one simalar about 20 years ago in Fur-Fish-Game. Not very efficient however if big numbers are the quest. Zachattack, If your equiptment is in good shape most coon, even big coon wont pull out if they reach something like a big tree branch.

Dont get me wrong. Exotic sets are fun to play with and I try a few each year on my line. I dont care if a guy harvests one coon or one thousand he or she is still a trapper and is just as important as any big numbers guy! We all love our "pursuit of happiness" and wish to continue doing so.

Unless you already have some rims laying around, by the time you pay for the trap and pay for the rim, you might as well get a Lil Griz Getter.

But still its a great idea and one of the very few "original" new set ideas. Cool.
Its too creative not to try.
