im not looking for criticism about spelling or form or anything, but i just thought u might like the story. you can critisice everything but spelling/grammer and form of the story, thanks.
Well it all starts with some confusion on trapping ground. I had some traps out for bobcats on one cannion by my house. the landowner said that i could trap his land, and as it turns out he dosnt own the cannion he just farms it. so i wasnt supposed to be on there but i didnt know that. i had a few #3's on there trying to catch my first bobcat. i was pulling up to check traps when i saw a big grey truck sitting there. i saw 2 people walking in so i imediatly called my dad. the landowner came over and told me that the people were on there predator hunting and that i should remove those traps ASAP. well that wasnt what i wanted to do but i had to keep him happy. so i went in and pulled them in the dark that night. when i pulled out, the gray truck was sitting there. i walked to my car and said hi, put my traps in my car and was going to drive off. when the man said "so i heard u like the 'cats as much as i do" well i just said yes and continued on my way. he then said that i could have left those traps in there because he didnt mind. well i was starting to like this guy already. we got to talkin predator hunting there in the dark, and we then led to bowhunting and then turkey and everything else. We started to become friends from then on. we talked a few times in and out of the place because we met when i was checking my other line. he then asked me to come predator hunting with him. I was to meet him at a old abandoned house site by the woods and go on foot from there. we got all set up with our gear and headed out. we made our first set by a big cedar overlooking a creek and brush pile. we called for a long time but nothing wanted to peek out of its hiding spot. so we moved to the next spot, walking about 600yards to another part of the creek. we called there for a long time again but nothing would show itself. we had time for one last stand. He told me on the way in that if i saw a cat to squeek my lips. i was no rookie and i knew this but i just nodded my head. he cleared out a locust by breaking the spikes off of it, then he set the call 15yds to his right. then he picked out a little cedar 15yds in front of him, it was on a downhill slant, but there was a flat bottom just about 3yds away for me to shoot off of, he would watch down the creek and i would watch up it. so the call was 15yds to my right and 15yds to my back. there was a cleared lane to my left beside the river and i was expecting to see a coyote loping down there if anything came so i pointed my gun that way on me knee. well i turned my head slowly to my left trying to see that coyote that i was sure was going to be there, finally got my head turned and nothing was there. so i began turning my head slowly back to normal position inch by inch slowly easy, those cats have good eyes for movement, easy, just about there, then i swung my eyes to match my head and there sat a bobcat 20yds in front of me...wow. i'd never seen a cat before so the fever set in and the shakes were comming near. i was sitting by the only cover between the cat and the call and the cat had his eyes on the call, but was crouched low stalking toward me. if u remember i had the gun pointing to my left...the cat came from the right so i couldnt shoot, and it was killing me. he just kept comming closer, 20yds,15yds,10,5...the call stoped, my buddy stoped the call and began to get up, giving up on the stand(he couldnt see the cat due to the slant that i was sitting on, the cat was on the creek bottom). i squeeked my lips, he started the call right away. those big yellow eyes turned to me and met my eyes. they saw right through me. the shakes set in, he didnt no wut was going on. he sat down 5 yds away so he was basicly sitting on my boots with the gun pointed away from him. we stared at eachother for atleast 20minutes, so many spots, leapord spots on his back, beautiful cat. i remember the sweat on my face. then like a sign from God, a squirell started chewing that cat out, he turned his back to me and twisted his head to look at the squirell, i turned my gun fast...he was off like lightning. he stoped at 50yds threw some brush. he took a step....breath..breath....BOOM. the shot bucked me back into the cedar, i looked up at the cat and he was 6 foot in the air with a broken shoulder. then that thing was off like greased lightning. we blood trailed for a few yards, then got to a cedar that smelled like cat urine, then blood trailed him for about 100yds after and ran out of batery in the flashlight...so we were going to comeback in the morning. that night 2 inches of rain hit and ice covered everything. we coulnt track him any further.
