Wanted: .54 or larger muzzleloader project - 10/27/21 06:00 AM

I'm looking for a winter project- a traditional muzzleloader to restore or a kit to build. Must have a very good or better bore and the potential to be an accurate, quality firearm. Flintlock or percussion is fine.

My first thought is of an older Civil War reproduction rifle that needs some attention. I happen to already have some .575-.58 minie ball molds, but I am open to other calibers over .50. All offers appreciated.

I enjoy refinishing stocks and take my time doing it (2-3 months on average, sometimes more). I don't mind making minor repairs, rebluing or browning if needed, replacing a piece or two, etc. I do want a good value for my money, and something that I can be proud to take to a target shoot and take hunting next fall.

Thanks for your time.
