Solomon seal is worth around $5.00 a dry pound for true Solomon seal. Wash it nice and clean and dry it. Should not have to be cut up. It will take very near 4 pounds of fresh dug root to make a pound of dry. When it is dry enough, the root should snap in half and not bend before breaking. If it is flexible at all, it is not dry enough. They do not want any dirt left on the roots.

Well I went and made a tall wood box for drying. I only have 1 and half weeks to work so I was getting all the plants there. The Solomon seal is all over. so I spend my lunch digging. I have dug small plants to transplant at home. But some plants had the biggest root I have ever seen. That place used to be all woods. so the plants have been there a long time. So roots in the box drying. off to a start !!

The latest price list from one of my buyers had Solomon's Seal at $4/lb. Other buyers may be different.
